Coloration is the coloring of a person's skin. When somebody is healthy, his or her skin will appear ordinary in color. In the case of sickness or injury, the person's skin may change colour, becoming darker (hyperpigmentation) or lighter (hypopigmentation). Soreness due to acne attacks could well lead to a kind of acne blemishes known by the name of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation .
